Frequently asked questions

Do I need vMix already or can I try it first?

vMix has a 60-day free trial with all features. Start there. If after two months you don't want to go back to OBS, buy Basic HD (€60).

What computer do I need?

Minimum: i7 or Ryzen 7 with 16GB RAM and a dedicated GPU (NVIDIA GTX 1650 or better). For replay and 4+ cameras: 32GB RAM and a fast SSD.

Does this work without a Streamdeck?

Yes. vMix has built-in hotkeys. But a Streamdeck (€130) fundamentally changes your workflow — it's the best investment after vMix itself.

Can I use the Companion config directly?

The config is a starting point you adapt to your own setup. The guide explains how every page and button works so you know what you're changing.
